When I started Real Economy Ideas, the goal was simple.
Find undervalued, under-followed, and misunderstood businesses in the real economy. Companies making things, building things, moving things.
That approach has been working. The ideas have performed. The theses are playing out.
But I’ve been thinking about how to make this even more useful.
Starting next week, Real Economy Ideas is expanding.
More ideas, more frequent updates, deeper macro and industry context, and a new research pipeline that gives you a window into what I’m working on before it becomes a full thesis.
What’s New
1. Two Ideas Per Month, Minimum
Same quality. Same depth. Same rigorous framework. Just more of it.
More shots on goal means more optionality across the portfolio. That’s the whole philosophy.
2. Frequent Updates on Every Position
Every company I’ve covered will get ongoing coverage as catalysts hit. Earnings reports, strategic reviews, insider transactions, capital allocation decisions.
When something moves, you’ll hear about it. When a thesis breaks, I’ll be transparent about that too.
The thesis doesn’t end at publication. It’s just the beginning.
3. Industry Tailwinds and Macro Trend Pieces
This is one I’m particularly excited about.
I’ll be publishing regular pieces on the industry trends and macro tailwinds that are driving specific ideas. Reshoring and nearshoring. Infrastructure spending cycles. Commodity supply squeezes. Energy transition bottlenecks. Trade policy shifts creating winners in unexpected places.
These won’t be abstract macro commentary. Every piece will connect directly to real companies, either ones I’ve already covered or names on the watchlist that stand to benefit.
The best micro-cap ideas don’t exist in a vacuum. Understanding the industry dynamics behind them is how you build conviction, and it’s often where the next idea comes from.
4. The Watchlist and Research Pipeline
Every month, subscribers will get a look inside the funnel. What companies I’m currently researching. Where they sit in the pipeline. Which names are closest to becoming a full thesis.
If you see a name on the watchlist and have insights, the chat is open. Some of the best research comes from engaged subscribers who are closer to the ground than I am.
What’s Not Changing
The quality bar. The types of stocks.
Every company still has to clear the same filters:
Boring businesses.
Unsexy industries.
Real economy companies with what I believe to be asymmetric upside.
That’s what this page is about.
That’s not going anywhere.
